About the founders

After years of orchestrating the fast-paced, high-stress chaos of television production, the screen fatigue finally won. I desperately needed a sanctuary from the glowing rectangles, something you could actually hold, feel, and control. That’s how My Analog Heart was born right here in Oakville. It started as a quiet rebellion against the endless scroll, swapping out digital workflows for the deliberate, grounding weight of a premium fountain pen and the delightfully messy process of mastering ballpoint cross-hatching on fine paper. We created this space because we know firsthand that the best ideas don’t come from a keyboard; they come from the tactile, unplugged connection between your hand and a beautifully crafted journal.

Of course, building an analog sanctuary requires perfect balance, which is exactly where my co-founder, Yuki, steps in. Bringing the disciplined rhythm and grace of a professional dancer—along with the razor-sharp logistical skills required to run a successful Etsy shop—she ensures our curation has elegance and soul, while I’m the one happily nerding out over ink viscosity and technical shading techniques. Together, we’re on a mission to help you disconnect, slow down, and rediscover the joy of writing. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just someone looking for a really good notebook that won’t bleed through, we’re so glad you found us.
